FUTURE PLANS

Seaway Shipyard has prepared this page to provide information on our intentions for the Marina and associated properties in the Village of Cape Vincent. We have many plans and goals for the property all of which seek to grow the local economy, promote water dependent uses, update infrastructure and equipment, and establish Seaway Shipyard as a valued asset on the St. Lawrence Seaway. These plans include the following:

  1. Removing deteriorated boats and other equipment/items stored on shore at the Marina.

  2. Installing a new floating and stationary dock system which we will continue to rent to recreational customers and transient boaters, in addition to some designated slips for commercial and public vessels.

  3. Installing new bathrooms for Marina customers.

  4. Installing a new self-service fuel station.

  5. Repairing all interior and exterior seawalls.

  6. Repairing and improving buildings on the properties.

  7. Installing a new travel lift slip and purchasing a new travel lift.

  8. Continuing to provide vessel fabrication services in the building where MetalCraft has operated.

  9. Providing haul out services to private, commercial and publicly owned vessels in the area.

  10. Providing shipyard services to private, commercial and publicly owned vessels in the area.

Naturally, we want to complete all of these plans as soon as possible, however, such significant investments will take time to complete due to necessary permitting, funding and construction schedules. We appreciate our customers’ and the local community’s patience and support as we work to improve the properties for many years to come.

We have already received an outpouring of support from the local community, existing customers of the marina and future customers which we are extremely grateful for. We look forward to meeting new customers this season and are excited for what is to come at Seaway Shipyard!
